Hey Guys,

I think a lot of you heared that Mario Maker for the 3DS will be released on December 2th.
And you probably also heared of the limitations this game has like not having a ID Searchbar or you won't be able to upload your level.

I know it is a bit early to ask that, but do you think it will be possible for modders to create a ID searchbar?
It seems like the 3ds and Wii U version share the same servers.

I really appreciate your answers. Thank you.

I'm sure the homebrew community can cook up some kind of online repo for custom levels since we can edit saves pretty easily.
So uploading levels using 3DS is not possible right ?
Well, unless you consider streetpass/homepass uploading (it kinda-sorta is), then no.

An awesome game port on an awesome console and they already ruined it.
Do you not realize homebrew exists and the no-upload crap can be fixed? I can honestly see a pretty robust community being built around mario-maker levels that will rival the popularity of custom themes.

I expect this kind of fatalism on mainstream game forums, but not in a homebrew/piracy joint like this. :/

I am confident that the community will come up with some cool stuff :D

I think they are like : Wii U is dying guys! LETS PORT EVERYTHING! WE HAVE TO PORT!
Yea that sucks :/ BTW; I know, i didn't give the answer you want.I'm sure homebrew team will do so.Like @zoogie said,Nintendo is like one criminal and the homebrew team is an army.I'm something like that will happen.

The problem with restricted uploads was to focus more on mobile gaming and social interaction. You can't really do that on wii u since is a one player game, online modes are like mandatory for most of the game replay factor. The 3DS already comes with 100 Made courses, and restriction. I made a post already about 3DS having online features, in the nintendo direct news on front page. It can download courses made from wii u but Not all, just some which can be compatiable. (Most likely conflict lies in New super mario and original 1985 Mario, The spin jump was never present in the portable new super mario games but was in console, items like the propeller hat can't be used. Super mario 1 has costumes, slender mario mushrooms and mega mario mushrooms which aren't part of the 3DS version, SMB3 and SMW should not be effected or restricted by observation) Of course is my best guess. That is probably why the courses cannot be uploaded from 3DS, it's a limitation of the game engine and their decision to not add the stuff it probaly is lacking. The new super mario part is probably based on the 3DS super mario game which has no properller hat power up so is just observation.

The 100 mario challenge is still part of 3ds port and requires online to play. Not having course id search was mainly to focus more on the recommended and praised courses. it may be possible to just browse by creator or your on made courses to download as well. I dunno to be honest.

Couldn't they at least put the limited ones ?

Like, they could put SMB3 and SMW.You said they should not be effected.
Yeah that is what i mean. Those courses are compatibale. But the other two may not be. But it all depends how the course is made. If either of the two courses use elements that the 3DS version does not support (Example Propeller hat NSMB or the Mega mushroom, slender mario or costumes in SMB) then the course should be fine to download to 3DS. The SMB3 or SMW should not have anything that is incompatbile and all courses with those should find no reason to restrict it.:P

Why SMB1 is not compitable ? Can't they just put it on the 3DS port *
