Hacking Mario Kart Wii - Update?

Hi Guys, I have just tried on original Mario Kart Wii in my HomeBrew Channel Modded wii and and it went to upgrade with a warning that if modified code was found that the Wii could be rendered inoperable or something to this tune.

Does this mean I cannot play this game or can I copy it an remove the protection?

You should have removed the update out of the ISO before you burned it.
Search a little on GBAtemp, I'm sure there's a thread on how to do this...

the update on mario mart is nothing, updates to 3.2 i believe, its what you want to be on anyway!

My wii has been updated to 3.3u safe version so I'm suspicious so will pass on the update.

This is an original game but it seems that wii dvd dumper and httpdumper will not work ant more now that I have install wiigater 0.3?

So I can't even make a backup?

Just update with Mario Kart. The update is safe.

I've just realised why httpdumper won't work, HBC beta 9, so I have found an elf to dol convertor.
I'll make a backup of Mario Kart and try it through wiigator 3.0. Then I'll try the update

Made a 1-1 copy of Mario Kart and it plays perfectly and does NOT ask to be updated!

Since the backup version of Mario Kart Wii won't install the channel, how would I go about getting this "channel"?

the channel in the game. there is an option in the main menu that allows a channel to be installed.

the channel is bollox anyway, i personally wouldn't bother, sometimes you get a 001 error from that mario kart channel.

the mario kart i burnt never asked for an update so i'm guessing the update got tooken out of the iso so if i want to upgrade i should get disaster day of crisis? is 3.3 too high of an update tho?

It cannot be installed if you downloaded the ISO of the NSTC Mario Kart Wii or PAL Mario Kart.

There is a WAD of Mario Kart Channel, but it's PAL and doesn't work with the NSTC-U MKW.
