ROM Hack Mario Kart Maps(Single card)

I want to know if there's way to swap the maps,(like first 4 maps to other maps)
so that on the single card download play, we can play other maps.
is there any patch(es) for that?

There aren't any new maps for Mario Kart DS I'm afraid. However, perhaps you might like Diddy Kong Racing or Sega All Stars Racing- they're both good 'kart' racers!

I meant that swaping existing maps for download play. so for example swaping pinball map for download play maps

I'm not sure if it's possible. Then again, I haven't tried it, so you probably want to ignore this.
Keep in mind that the files sent to other DSs are usually encrypted, which makes them harder to edit.

That gave me an idea...
What If we were to make our own custom maps for gameplay?
If it messes up the CPUs then uhmm never mind unless:
1. It doesn't mess up the CPUs
2. We can try to fix the CPUs racing
3. I think it's going to be very buggy :S

the thing is....
I am not a hacker but I think
it would be really hard to decompose the rom
and add custom 3d texture map with mini map(with cpu move directions)
and then re pack everything lol....

Yeah. Just look at the translation projects. They take years and years... and all that's happening is a little bit of text and image editing!
