Mario Kart Error code

I have the mario kart cartridge. I just updated it to v3.0 using DBI installer. Now I cant play the game. It always gives me an error.
" Error Code: 2002-2961
The software was closed because an error occurred. "

Do I need to update my firmware? I'm currently on 16.0.2 | AMS 1.5.4|E

Updated Atmosphere and Sigpatches and it works now
