Gaming Mario kart 8 local multiplayer 2 switches

Hi

Trying to play mk8 with two switches, one with og cart and the other with nsp. I get to joining a room but when trying to join I get a message saying the room can no longer be found. Any ideas?

dont have a lan adapter so was via wifi

just a guess, maybe you're trying to match with a switch with a trimmed nsp so it can't match the version? just make sure both switch is up-to date

I'm on 5.01 and presume other guy was on latest official so guess that may have been why then - doh!

sorry, i meant to say the game version,
system firmware shouldn't matter. i've played on my 5.1 switch with my brother running 6.0.1 and had no issues on MK8
