Nexon announced MapleStory DS ages ago. It’s finally on the horizon and scheduled to launch in Korea on April 15.

The handheld version of MapleStory stars four heroes: an archer, mage, thief, and warrior. Each character has their own storyline. Unlike the PC game, MapleStory DS is not an online game. It connects with it, sort of, by including codes for exclusive virtual items.

Nintendo plans to promote MapleStory DS heavily since it’s acting as a launch game for the Nintendo DSi in South Korea. A limited edition bundle with a red DSi and MapleStory DS will be available for 237,000 won ($204). The game costs 39,000 won ($34).

No plans to release MapleStory DS have been announced in any other region so far.

Here's the boxart:

God must be playing Maplestory, it's the only reasonable explanation of why this game is going to be released.

So it's evolved from being a shitty online game, to a very shitty offline game with poor graphics and slowdown. And it insults gamers by having one of those token online functions just so they can slap the wifi sticker on the box and mislead people, like Square was doing with a few of their games.

Who wouldn't want to play something like that?

@dib: look at all the mapletards out there and especially those rich spoiled tards and u tell me why they wouldnt play it?

Next it'll be Combat Arms NDS or Mabinogi NDS or even worse, Poptag NDS!
I wouldn't mind Poptag. Or Kart Rider, although Nexon America dropped it -_-

Combat Arms won't really work. It's not a good competitor in the FPS genre. It has no scope, including iron sights.

So it's basically like practically every FPS game before Call of Duty 4? Some of the best FPS games don't have iron sights (scopes are usually in most FPS games that have a sniper type weapon). Thought I'd point that out.

But really, does anyone who is above the age of 12 care about Maple Story? It's like Runescape. It's super cool when you're a kid and then once you hit a certain age you realize "Wow, this is really boring and stupid" and then quit. I played Runescape for years (my character was lvl 91 I think when I quit) and then I realized how boring it was. Odds are this game will just kinda suck but Maple Story fans will buy it.

What is it with this "MMORPG to DS" thing going on? Phantasy Star 0, Ragnarok DS, and now this? Next thing you know we'll have World of Warcraft DS...

>Implying Call of Duty 4 invented ironsights in fps games
