Homebrew mame help

ive installed sdlmame on my wii when it loads using the twilight hack it then goes on to
mame menu with all my my games i have but im not sure if can use your wii controll pad
or do i need some other type of controller to these games ?

why use MAME its shit.... use gxgeo, using mame will take a full day to laod a rom
