Hacking Question Making a private Splatoon 2 server?

I was wondering if it would be possible to redirect the request the Switch sends out to a private server (of course after we learn about the game more) with a DNS/Proxy like redirecting YouTube on the 3DS.
It would make for some pretty cool cheats (Infinite Salmon Run schedule etc.).

EDIT: Seems like we'd need a patched game. Good to know that it's gonna be possible after Kernel access.

I don't think it will really possible without getting homebrew on the switch first but my guess is that splatoon on the wii u might communicate with the server in a similar manner and as far as I know people haven't tried to do it on the wii u.

servers are encrypted (ssl and all that shit) and would be really hard to redirect without kernel access.
 
With kernel access it should be possible i think. But we don't have it afaik, only a kernel dump. I would be more interested in a private ARMS server. ;)

the private arms server would just be even more cancerous
the dodgeroll + jump spammers would overflow
 
Tbh private servers would be good for hacking, like save editing, custom splatfests or ink colorizers. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
 
well, anytime salmon run would be cool though I have a feeling that once we use the custom server it's always only the custom since, well, ya, changes to stats not going to them seems fishy
 
To refresh this question: Today we have homebrew, nintendo's service is going to be paid, a custom splatoon 2 server would be realy nice to have. I wonder how hard it will be to create one!? ... :unsure:
