You could try DSision 2 with YSMenu. I've found that you can't really run homebrew on it (You have to load ysmenu.nds before you can run most homebrew), but other than that it's exactly what you want, and easier to set up than a lot of other firmware.

It lets you have slideshow pics on the top screen, or box art (You have to add it in yourself, but it's nice to look at.), or nothing special if you wish, it shows each game with the icons enlarged, it's pretty to look at..... It also does not allow you to use cheats or Reset.. Not sure what DMA is but I don't think it has that either. You also cannot delete the games directly from the card.

Slideshow pics, though, need to be in a resolution of 256 x 192 pixels and be a 144kb bitmap. Box Art should come up to 128 x 115 pixels and be a 43.1 kb bitmap.
I would gladly fix up that kind of stuff for you if you don't have time.....

I have too much time on my hands, so I could do it.
