Why are people just taking this as fact? It'd be awesome and sooorta makes sense because they have the same art style/graphics. If the card/cartridge is big enough to hold both games it'd be an immense fan service if done well.

No... they used the same engine, and models. Also, the 3DS carts are like 2-4gb, I remember them saying so at E3.
max size is 2GB but regardless where did this rumor come from?
2-4gb? That would be a massive step up from the size of the current games. Wouldn't it be badass if they made a 3d remake?

It makes sense because Majora's Mask comes right after OoT and the Zelda fanbase is generally divided in opinion over the N64 Zeldas; some prefer OoT and some prefer MM. If Ninty releases both on the same cart, they'd garner BOTH sides of the divide. (which is possible since Ocarina was only 24 MB and I doubt MM was much bigger; even with upgraded assets I doubt both would take up more than a gig when combined)

I'll wait around for some news; if it comes with MM then I'll buy it for sure. Ocarina is an old, boring game to me; a 3-D Link to the Past as far as I'm concerned. Majora actually brought some new ideas to the series.

Majora's Mask is a sequel to Ocarina of Time, is it not?

It is expected that they would try to keep both on the same console.
Perhaps they're waiting to see if OoT does well before releasing MM?

The word sequel doesn't apply to TLoZ. Dont go there!

I just remember MM taking place right after OoT, even the intro animation showed that.

In a weird way it does but Its the split time line theory.

It's not really that weird.
The OoT ending assumes everything is alright. (and Link is a kid again) The intro to MM works with it.

Anyway, I have my doubts that it'll happen due to the lack of a source, but it doesn't seem too implausible that they would do this. Once the engine is ported over it's just a matter of replacing the textures with the updated ones and fixing any bugs that may come up. Not a complicated task for a Nintendo dev team.

Yeah, 2GB. and I don't know, I've been lurking around a lot of 3DS forums and people talk about it like on all of them.

I just hope this is not in the OoT remake.

You can't have OoT without that!

As annoying as she was, it just wouldn't be an authentic OoT experience without shouting at the screen "YES! I know that I need to go to ******* Death Mountain!"

I could seeing it working. The OoT HD patch is only around 600megs. Nintendo also can optimize that space better then hackers can. Would love to play MM and OoT on the same cart.

If this is true I'd love to see if Ninty takes it a step further, maybe allow you to use the MM form masks in OoT after you beat both games, or something similar to bring the two games closer together in an interesting way.

Sweet. A definitely must buy from me. Would love to finally end OoT and actually keep on MM where I left it.

Some one didn't beat OoT....
Also the word sequel does apply... In EVERY Zelda game! Maybe not all the games are the same story or time but are all intertwine together with OoT (or was it the original Zelda for nes?)
Time Line:
OoT->MM,WW & TP
WW->Phantom Hour Glass & Spirit Tracks
I am not sure about the GBA ones b/c i have never played them.

No sources, but
That's a great way to start a thread.

Can I have a go?

No sources, but apparently the 3DS is going to cost less than $50 and is powered by an internal nuclear reactor.

I suspect the creator of the thread just made this up, and come-on they will not have both games on the same cart.
Nintendo want's money just like any other business they can double their profits by selling them individually.

generally MM was no where near as popular as OoT
OoT is basically a cash cow for nintendo right now

I doubt we will ever see MM remake / port

Wrong, the largest first game to come out on the system will be 2GB, it is NOT the maximum, its just the largest launch title.

Nonono, that's terribly wrong. Stfu before we have a huge flame war about the Zelda timeline.
