Aren't the Macbook's touchpads multitouch too? I wonder if they'll integrate those features down the whole line as well. It's funny because I keep on wanting to pinch and double tap on my Macbook after using my Touch.

No, the current ones are not. The Air has no dvd drive, although you can buy one for $100 or borrow one via the network from any other computer with included software. 80gb harddrive or 64 flash option. 0.16" to 0.72" thick. 2 gigs of ram, 1.6ghz core 2 duo, etc, etc. $1799.

Pretty pricey for extra mobility and less features, imho.

The high end is $3100?

i'm very disappointed. apple should focus a little more on their pro users. i need power and functionality on the go. digitizing screen would be very welcomed and people have pleaded for it for years. ipod touch? iphone? iTv? that's all great steve but they are not computers. anyway.

Once again Apple fals to appeal to the midrange computer market. They just HAD to fit a MacBook Pro in there didn't they.

1800 starting price for 1 USB, 1 Headphone, 1 DVI no drives of any kind only fucking 5 hours battery for something that uses SSD? Hell I wanna know the details on the screen resolution, response time, and brightness, but I have a feeling I will be dissapointed since they already stated it's an LED display.

thin air is THE SUXXORS

i dont understand why ppl invest there money into mac products

it's all on their site

Are you serious?? They made this "Macbook Air" so that you cannot replace the battery yourself? That might have been tolerable for stuff like the ipod, but in a laptop this is just ridiculous. This and the pricetag make this thing useless.

a crappy eepc has the same specs and costs 399 bucks ROFL

5000 hours?

The thing is, somehow, this laptop will succeed, do you know why?

, it's made by Apple. Those iPod and Leopard freaks will probably buy one of these. Plus, general population will be fooled by it's looks over functionality. That's the story of Apple.

Huzzah for blind Fanboyisms!!!!! EVERYONE GO BUY A SHITTY LAPTOP BECAUSE WE MADE IT AND IT IS REALLY THIN!!!!!![/CAPS!].

Christ, they could have made an UMPC with the same exact specs for cheaper. Everyone is just going to blindly applaud and buy it regardless of the low-power, non-interchangeable battery, lack of ports, shitty OS (IMO), etc...etc... The only thing Apple can do is build shitty devices that LOOK really nice.

Get a real computer.

Ughhhhhh It shouldn't be called macworld, it should be called "The Consumer Whores throw money at Mr. Jobs Expo"

The thin air's only function is to attract those people who- are listening to a 400 dollar ipod, while carrying a 2500 power book, while wearing an apple tshirt, while playing with their iPhone, on their way to go home to subsribe to iTunes movie download service- and get them to drop another couple grand right into Mr. Jobs' pockets.

Mac fanatics are the most elitist consumer whores ever.

(Note if you use your mac for the following, photo editing, movie making, graphical design, music making etc....you are exempt from above statement, unless you own all of the stuff previously mentioned.)

I will admit I own an ipod. I resisted for nearly 5 years, but I caved and bought a used newer generation ipod shuffle, I will also admit macs have some good features....force quit is amazing. 95% of what apple makes are directed at the consumer whore market, the kind of people who buy the newest and latest, just so they can show it off to people and say they have the newest and latest.

5000 hours?

Yeah I thought he made a typo at first.

Actually the Air itself itsn't that bad. What IS bad is the price.

Jesus, you you guies wouldn't be bashing it if it had a lower starting price. I mean much lower than it is now.
