How much ram can the macbook handle? It states max 2GB, but core duos can do 4GB, no?
would 3 work? even though its not evenly spread.

Hiya,

It depends on the model. I think the Macbooks can only handle 2GB, and the Core 2 Duo Pro's can handle 4GB. I've got a Macbook Pro Core Duo, and it only handles 2GB...

Also, it's best to use your ram in pairs, it apparently makes it work a lot better.

Original Core Duos are limited to 2GB, Core 2 Duo ( 2nd Gen ) is 3GB I think... The Core 2 Duo ( 3rd Gen, Right now ) can handle up to 4GB

It is as Zewarrior says. Now I just need to wait next year for a new iMac(as long as it has good graphics). If not, I am building my own.
