Hardware Macbook 2011 Good Deal?

Hi I have recently been looking for a macbook, yesterday my laptop(2008) broke. I was just wondering if this is worth the buy. It does have some tremendous upgrades to it.

$220 if I am reading that right, not sure why they mention $700 something (sometimes I would be suspicious, especially with what I am about to say, but here I will go for bad sales tactic). The 2011 models do not have a good GPU/logic board if memory serves and we are at the 4-5 year mark, I would wonder if they waved a heatgun over it and brought it back and are hoping the 90 day warranty is enough to get them clear.
You say upgrades and I see 128GB SSD and 8GB Memory. Depending upon when the SSD was installed then it might not be the fastest and 8 gigs is a nice amount of memory I guess, not sure if any came with it off the shelf but more than good enough for reasonably heavy computing tasks.

Not sure when OSX support for that model will end but given past trends it will be sooner rather than later, however that is not so bad as it should still be able to run other things.

For the money (I have no great knowledge of US refurb vendors right now so I am going on http://www.newegg.com/Laptops-Notebooks/RefurbishedStore/ID-64 and http://outlet.lenovo.com/outlet_us/laptops/#facet-1=1,2,3,4 ) you will be hard pressed to beat the specs, however you will more than be able to get something to do similar tasks to the mac and were it me buying for me or a client that matters I would be happier with those.

I wouldn't touch it. There's obviously something fishy with this, since any (functional) Early 2011 Macbook Pro would easily sell for 3 times as much literally everywhere else online (I would know, for the last 2 weeks I've been trying to find a cheapo Macbook for my sister to buy and the cheapest I can find, with lower specs, is around $500).

It's either stolen, has some sort of hardware defect, or has some other issue that makes it worth jack. I would say the seller doesn't know what it's worth, but that's obviously not true since it's supposedly being sold for "$799.95" at his "store".

Ask him for pictures of it functioning, ask for screenshots of each hardware info page (including battery life) and ask why it's so cheap. If he dodges any of those questions, something is fucked with it. FAST had the right idea above, it's also likely they just "fixed" some other defect and are hoping it won't die by the time the warranty ends.

If it's stolen the cops will go right to his house and seize the laptop and he will be out 220$ at best and catch a criminal charge at worst.

Take it from experience, no Mac is a good deal

(especially not this one though for the reasons above)
