Gaming Mac or PC ?

I side with the user Dimensional. If you cannot decide between Windows and Mac, you should definetely try out Ubuntu, as it offers the best of both worlds. I switched to Linux four years ago, and never wanted to go back since.

Only issue is that Wine doesn't perfectly emulate the Windows system. A DirectX intense program would have severe issues running. One prime example is Dream of Mirror Online. I tried playing that on Wine, and half the time I couldn't see the mouse, and other times it would freeze and then crash on me. Linux is a free alternative to Windows or Mac, but it can't do it all. Not even customizing Wine with things will make it run perfectly.

I have to agree with you there for a bit: wine certainly isn't great. This shouldn't be much of a problem if you're looking for regular utilities (there's a Linux-equivalent for every usual desktop app, and sometimes the Linux-version is better), but for gaming it has it's drawbacks.

Have you ever tried Virtualbox OSE? It allows you to install a Windows-partition (or any other OS for that matter) inside Linux, and it works like a charm. More versatile than a dual-boot, and infinitely more stable than wine.

I tried that. The example wouldn't display anything while running inside the virtual machine.

If you can afford it, go for a Mac.

It much more than just a computer. Its john; a buddy from the apple store that you can call if you run into a problem. It look nice, it feels good, it sounds cool.

I couldn't. It like a religion. In windows I trust. But I tell everyone around me to buy a mac and their happy.

just get a hackintosh and run both or a mac and run both. there is no need to compromise or even debate which one is better.
Most of these types of debates never get to a conclusion that's going to be of any practical help to anyone. People sometimes, people like debating for the sake of debating. Regardless, that's a pretty shallow arguments nonetheless. You're suggesting everyone wants to learn how to Hackintosh. It's worth paying an extra $1000 for some people to get a computer with exactly the same specs just so you can have OS X pre-installed and also easily install Windows should you want to.

Personally, I prefer the flexibility of a PC. I do dual boot Windows 7 with OS X, but I don't really see much use for OS X for my purposes. Windows 7 does everything I've ever needed. Learning how to use OS X is like learning how to walk again for the sake of learning it for me. I find myself finding alternatives for software I already have on the same machine. It's kind of pointless for me, but I can see why other people would prefer it. It's just that every time I boot into it, I always think "What do I do now?"

of course . no doubt the world isn't like that .
the Mac isn't a PC anymore . the world has become so vague , and classified Macs as Macs .
yet when you describe Linux or Windows , you just call the PCs .

i despise the fact that they describe it like that , but i can't blame them . if i ever saw a commercial advertising PCs, i'd instantly think about Windows and not Macs .

That wasn't really targeted at you. It's for people who make that statement and try end the argument when it's really just splitting hairs.

The OS X UI & Unix file structure is just a lot easier to handle & more secure for a life on the web. But Windows' compatibility with more programs as well as more influence on developers for better software makes its a much more common OS. Some people prefer Windows over OS X because you can customize the hardware. Because you can customize the hardware, you're more capable of running bigger applications like games.

Ideally, we'd need the Windows OS with a Unix file structure for stability. But the idea that someone will circumvent the OS's security and create a virus is inevitable on any machine. The reason why they exist more Windows computer is because more people actually have a Windows computer. Apple stopped advertising for the Mac because the realized they'd fall in the same hole as Windows if they had as many people on OS X, discovering their flaws.

I believe the success of an OS is measured by how many security flaws can be found in the system. If they can find one, at least they know its so widespread that the virus's victims would be worth infecting thus meaning that the OS is well distributed.

Apple realized that in order for them to maintain this balance that Windows has more viruses, making OS X superior, Windows needed to keep having the larger cut of the market share. They're exactly where they need to be, economically, in order to not follow the path of viruses.

While Linux is a good OS,it doesnt support all games,I am a PC gamer so i cant use uBuntu

Pros:Great graphic interface
It has Barely to no virus
Easy to brag off to friends
Cons:Barely any programs that works and most of them preat much unfinished or still in beta
Much more expensive

PC
Pros:So many more programs
Hyper cheaper and affordable
More compatibility
Cons:Worse interface but still good
Has more virus but though alot of anti-virus programs

I don't know anybody with a Mac who can brag about it to me, no matter how big and shiny it is. Then again, maybe it's because I'm the one who's been fixing their computers/consoles over the years...

Also, how is the Windows UI a con?I happen to prefer the Windows 7 UI over OSX or any other OS I've used to date.

The 7 GUI mixes the ease of use and plain sexiness of OSX with the stability of XP. Because it mixes them both together it doesn't do as good a job as either of them but it's still a good OS to use.

That said, OSX and Linux have a muuuuuuuuuuuuuch lower chance of security compromise.
