m4a files not working on photo channel 1.1-b

im trying to play my own music in the photo channel slideshow thing so i converted my song into aac and renamed it to m4a and it says it doesn't work and i was like "maybe the bit rate is too high" so i converted it again to aac but at like 32k and it still doesn't work is there like a length limit or am i doing something very wrong
