*UPDATE*

Managed to update it finally after formating my card, so if you get a solid light give it a go and it worked for me.

Formatted it, loaded on the new F_CORE.DAT file + the system file and it started flashing =) Works fine now i have a Danny card lol

It seems many people are worried about having a 'Dannycard' & how M3 have released an update that uses a similar method of 'cloning' an official card just like the other card makers have done

IMHO I think this is actually a 'quick fix' release to get all the users of the card up-&-running while M3Team work on a proper fix.
By doing this it give the M3team time to not only figure out the Icon/Official workaround BUT also to see what type of 'bugs' appear & so fix those as well for the next update

Ok I get your point but that excuse is getting a little old, the icon really does matter I mean seriously you don't want your friends to see that you have a danny phantom icon on your DSi Menu, I mean you might not even be playing your M3 you might be going to play flip note but on the way you pass danny phantom and your friends see and laugh at you and you try to explain but they have no idea what an M3 or acekard or what a flashcart is.

If you have to explain or REALLY worry about the icon then ..

a) You should go buy/play/use something else and stop bitching

or

b) Get new friends!

c) If you think you can do better or make it work with a normal icon then go learn how to hack your card and change it all yourself or make a brand new card from scratch!


Beggers cannot be choosers your ALL breaking the law already by playing pirate games that you otherwise wouldn't have or be able to afford in some cases! ..... Its a VERY MINOR grudge to bare! ... And a pretty CHILDISH to keep bitching and complaining over an icon and 2 or 3 words of text! .. So long as it works and you can STILL play your ILLEGAL PIRATE COPIES?! ....Then STFU grow up and stop complaining!

Your friends are more likely to comment on the fact your playing with FLIP BOOK and making a few naff scribbly animations than an icon that allows you to play the latest games again for free!

Hey don't get me wrong I'm not bitching or complaining that's the exact opposite of what I'm doing but like when I'm talking about the icon and I might not even be complaining at all maybe thinking out loud a way to try and get it working some d-bag always has to come in and say "What? Do you just look at the icon all day!? lololololololoooloollolol" and that post I just made was just me saying I was tired of people saying that left and right.

It's just annoying as hell the littlest thing people bitch about on here yet forget they still get all this stuff for free...no one forces them to buy the updates the card makers issue them free of charge they are not legally obliged to do so its flash card remember they are not legal as such for playing retail game dumps!....Yet they all complain about it!

The fact is they just have to LIVE with a naff icon ... It's obvious when you think about it that this was the way it was going to go ..I'm guessing the 1.4 update implemented an icon CRC and ID icon/header description check of the game name of any card and when it found one that didn't match or probably the obvious one... As they waited for ZERO to release their card ....they just added the code to the 1.4 firmware that picked out the common DSi flash card names and icons along with their CRC /description and just blocked them from loading ... Hence the icon change in the hacked updates to a now show a retail game icon and displays the games ID the DSi sees it as LEGIT and loads it ..It's probably just that simple lol

I'm not particularly happy with the icon and name change, but it serves as a disguise. I often have my DSi confiscated by teachers at school who would happily grass me up to whoever cares I'm using a piracy tool. Now that it shows there is a crappy game in slot 1 they don't even look at it. I doubt they'll be changing it any time soon so there's no point whining about it anyway. Think of the plus points instead.

Since the 1.4 upgrade my M3i as become MUCH more stable. It reads the MicroSD a lot of the time.

The Danny Phantom Icon mask seems pretty interesting (for masking purposes), though it'd be nice if there's an option to change it, or turn it off.

Unfortunately you can't. We all had to flash to change the icon, which means we will have to reflash every single time we want to change.
