Hacking m3 stuck at initial screen

i have a japanese m3 sakura cart. It loads straight past the ds main screen, but never actually loads...it is stuck with the "m3 ds real" logo at the bottom right of the screen". ive been putting in plenty system folders (including what came with the cd) with no luck. can anyone tell me if im doing something wrong?
