um o.o...that is ONE game O.o..

this argument is so dumb...its not even like arguing which apple is better when its from the say tree.....its arguing which apple is better when its freaking genetically identical!! diference being the sticker on the apple telling you where its from =="

I don't know about all that "cheaper" talk either cause I am sorry guys~ stores are realizing that they are the same hardware so they are selling it for the same price now

I am dumb cause I purchased a m3 when it was overpriced, but the R4DS fanboys are worst ...I mean when you see a thread like this..you should automatically think...HEY someone thinks R4DS is the best....because R4DS = M3simply. As for the updates argument, its about 1 day late right now so um....there is no problem?

Last but not least...R4DS owners...please realize that M3Simply is the same cart, every advantage you have is as easy as desoldering for M3Simply owners so calm down. If someone have more faith in the m3 team (which is completely justified) then let them be.

I believe M3 has access to firmware sourcecode meaning maybe they will come out with something new when they are done with the M3 Real who knows?

"Have you tried a race? The slowness apparently does not happen in the tutorial/training mode."

Yes I tried a race, online for that matter. It works flawlessly.

Works with me,

Setup:

M3 Simply 1.02 Beta
FAT 16k Clusters
Tony Hawk Downhill Jam, this is dumped from my actual copy. Not a downloaded one. So maybe thats why I guess.

interesting. even with alot of players close by? its not a major slowdown but you CAN see it. dump PoR sometime and check if that freezes

One thing why I like SCDS over M3 is because of the saves. All of M3 simply's saves are 512kb which after 50 games that is 25mb of save space. Where SCDS uses the right save size for each game instead of oversizing so the saves will auto work. People allways complain about the SCDS having to select the save size, I think that it is better that way. At least you can change the .sav size. It does auto detect, but SC team has to put out the data file for it to be able to auto detect the most recent rom's .sav sizes. It would be a whole different thing if games couldn't save untill SC came out with new data files for .sav updating, but that isn't how it is.

I'd rather have over sized saves and know the game will save. Take dead and furious I don't think anyones managed to save it on the SCDS yet. Having to choose your saves is what put me off buying the SCDS and getting the R4. I've bought supercard in the past, I also thought the SCDS was overpriced. Usually supercard are the cheapest.

I was just playing Tony Hawk and didn't notice anything. I have a Kingston 1gb Japan. No freezes in PoR either.

it's funny how people count $5 diffrence as an advantage.. they're the same friggin card for god's sake !! r4 is a very new company, god knows how long they're going to support their product. m3 team on the other hand, has been in the businnes for a long time and i'm very pleased with their products and support. i'm going with m3 for sure.

You can change your R4 to an M3 easily anyway if that happens and M3 get their arse in gear to release firmware before the R4.

Well, I don't know how to solder and I'm not going to risk it just for 5 dolars..

Which is exactly why they think that they can sell their product more expensive and trick the consumers. Higher price doesn't always mean better.

and this was technically a discussion for 'is there a better choice than the m3 simply'. Which there is, even if the only difference would be that the R4 is 1 cent cheaper than the M3, it would still be a 'better choice' as they are exactly the same card. When you pay those extra $5, you are not paying for a better card. You are paying for that 'M3 simply' sticker on the card. So ask yourself, do you want to pay 5$ for a sticker?

It really is not fair to judge a company just because they are new. According to your post, you seem to already foreseen the end of R4.
The way I see it, the M3 has been here long enough to establish a name for quality as it is. So they really don't have to try too hard into making consumers believe their producs are just 'better' because it includes the name M3 in it.
On the other hand, R4 is new to the whole flashcard business. So how does a new company stand out in the whole jungle of flashcard competitions? By standing out...

The whole world works like this. How many times have you bought a product just cause of its name? Would you prefer to buy shoes by Adidas for 60$ or buy exactly the same shoes by Hanabalulu for 10$? Most people would say something similiar like you, but there are exceptions. Dumb examples but:

*The Worshippers*
- Well it's Adidas.. it MUST be good quality then. It's worth the extra 50$ because atleast I know im getting my moneys worth

*Doubt*
- Well it looks the same.. but im not sure. I've never heard of Hanabalulu before.. but they seem to be the same..

*Researcher*
- I did some research and found out that it IS the same product.. wow, I just saved myself 50$!

*The Ignorant*
- Adidas is better.. no matter what you say.

/agree@KM as well. Fanboyism is retarded in general and usually consists of the stupidest of consumers. It's smart to go with one product because you've bought from them before so you know they've got a good track record. It's a risk to go with a one product from a new company because you don't know what the outcome will be. It's stupid to go with one product over the other even though it's more money just because you know the company when the slightest bit of research shows that they're the exact same product. We've all made stupid purchase in our lifetime that we wish we wouldn't have

After the first couple in my life though, I made sure never to buy on a whim again and do some research first. A smart consumer usually does the same. ;o
