Hacking M3 Lite (Perfect) not being detected?

So I just got a M3 lite from someone, but it's not being recognized on my DS Lite. Do you think a dead battery can cause this to happen?

Whoa! It turns out my DS's slot was a bit bad, or the contacts on the flash cart was bad. It booted up when I adjusted it, and then I had to reformat the microSD card to FAT (not FAT32), and then it works! YAY! I got this M3 Lite for only $30 too!
