Hacking M3 Lite: NDS/GBA Link?

The M3 Manual only explains how to do an NDS/GBA Link using a pass card and both ROMs on the M3 Lite.

Is it possible to link an actual NDS cart with a GBA ROM on the M3 Lite? If so, how?

Also, a side question: Can the M3 Lite link properly with the Gamecube? I've tried linking Metroid Prime with a Metroid Fusion ROM before, and it seemed to work at first, but then the connection failed.

I don't think so as I think you have to pair it with the rom using the manager utility. As for the second one, I'm pretty sure it can't.
