ROM Hack Love Plus Translation Project

I wonder is there anyone left still working on this project?
TLwiki's project seem inactive for few months and the progress is frozen. luke_c doesn't make any update recently.

I try to hack the rom but I am still newbie at that. After finish decode, I could't encode back and some of the .bin can't dump.
Then, I found out there a chinese version patch released in .exe format. They manage to translate everything except the image file.

So I am here looking for someone who are still interested in this project.
Need people can crack and translate the patch or someone had almost completely hacked the rom for translation.
I wanted it to be english so badly.

It's very unlikely that anyone who joined to ask is ever going to get help.

Japanese isn't Chinese. It may be what Kanji was based on and some characters are exatly identical, but that's it. You're not going very far that way.

Not necessarily true. I know a few Chinese who can understand Japanese simply because of Kanji, Elixirdream being one of them.
luke_c abandoned the project and even announced that he did, so you won't get any google translation there. As for the wiki, they need a translator, try e-mailing one of the people on that project, you'll get more results.

Love Plus isn't easy to hack due to what the script files are in, so if you don't know romhacking, you may want to learn quite a bit more along with a little programming.

True, a person who doesn't have any background in this forum looking for help is tough.
But trying to get some help won't take your life.
The more effort you contribute, the more support you receive at the end.

Just like the 1st post stated, I got the chinese patch in .exe format.
I could translate it easily without a translator.
All I need is hacking part.

I even went to irc loveplus channel to search for support, no one has replied.
I also Pm-ed Suriko & Nagato in irc but they doesn't reply.

I planned on doing my own translation of the game in the future, but then people told me the wiki group was working on it.
It won't stop me though, it'll either be Love Plus or Love Plus +.
Whatever you do, PLEASE don't use Google Translate. It's a pervert.

You can get a translation group if you really wanted to, but it may help to know a little romhacking.
Once you know a bit of it, other romhackers/translators will be more open to helping you.

Google always gave crap translation....
After comeplete Love Plus, I am going for Love Plus +. Hope we can working togather in future.

I know some romhacking but not until the part that I could completely explore everything inside the nds file.

As you can see dialogue is comepletely translated except the button and image.

To edit the script in the game, you NEED a script editor. I've tried to change the text by hex codes and it didn't work, maybe it'll be as hard as TMGS3 v_v

I finally could understand why the japanese married with the game character.
This game is seriously addictive if you can understand what they said.

They had a script editor that was command line, I believe.
I remember grabbing the tool myself for the game, but I really hate command line.

Don't worry I am not that silly.
Btw, I also got the tools to extract it but the tools is not sufficient to translate the rom yet.
Hmmm... why not I send you the patch and you try to extract the file they edited. Then we translate and re-edit it.
It will make the translation project progress faster and easier.

I prefer working from scratch from my own hard work.
You could help, but as I said, I'm already working on my own translation right now, Love Plus wouldn't be translated by me for a while(about three or four months).

Then, I will wait for someone to hack the other un-extracted text in arm9.bin and other file for translation.

Just took a look. You should probably pick a different first game to hack, this one isn't so easy.
As for reinserting text, it depends on the text limit of each line and how much can fit into the dialogue window.
The only way to do it without a script editor is by hex codes.

Again, saying that "anyone" could join is a bad idea.
You don't need to know C++ to make an editor

I remember it was hard to make an editor for this game because of the format of the script files.
