Pretty simple and also stupid problem. My cousin lost the SD card of his 2ds and now it doesnt turn on. It had all the homebrew stuffs

Is there anything i can do to recover the files from the 2ds or theres no solution and now it is just an expensive brick?

So let's try and see if we are on the same page:
  • The files on the SD card are Gone as the SD is gone.
  • 3ds doesn't boot without SD card and had former homebrew on it.
Doesn't give a lot to go on; so doing some guesswork.

You might have cfw on it that requires some files to be on the sd card at boot time.

If this is the case you will need a replacement sd card on which to put new files on to recover.

If it was Luma3ds... you can put the cfw files onto a replacement fat32 formatted sd card and still get it to boot up. I remember two forms of luma3ds one for the older hack called arm9loaderhax and the new one b9strap. What one you likely need depends on when you installed "homebrew"/cfw.

around luma 7 I think they made the switch so you could try a version around then to see if that one boots.

if you think you have boot9strap. then try some versions after that as there are a few different versions of boot9strap and different luma versions support different boot9strap versions.

Hopefully this gets you started and if you (or your cousin) remember additional details on how the 2ds was setup then perhaps you can be helped more.

Personal saves + extdata for 3DS games found in the Nintendo 3DS folder are lost forever.
Games and saves play through emulators are also lost. The only games you keep are DSiWare from the SysNAND TWLNAND drive.
  1. Reformat your replacement SD card in FAT32 + 32 KB cluster size with Windows File Explorer or guiformat (if bigger than 32 GB).
  2. Full Write + Verify the empty card with H2testw to check for hardware defects. Do not skip this step.
  3. If the card passes, delete the *.h2w test files. If an error was reported, you may stop the test.
    • A failed card can't be fixed. It would need to be replaced. Go back to step 1.
  4. Download both Luma3DS v7.0.5 and Luma3DS v9.1 and put these on the root of the SD card.
    • sdmc:/arm9loaderhax.bin (v7.0.5)
    • sdmc:/boot.firm (v9.1)
  5. Insert the card into the 3DS, turn it on, and hold the (Select) button to access Luma3DS configuration.
  6. Depending which version you see, update the custom firmware accordingly:
    • Luma3DS v7.0.5 → A9LH a B9S (A9LH to B9S)
    • Luma3DS v9.1 → Actualizer B9S (Updating B9S)
      • You can cheat a little collecting files with the starter kit found here.
