Hacking Loose Stylus

I have a DS Lite and it seems like I have to change the stylus out at least once a month because it gets too loose and falls out. It's starting to get really loose again so I want to make it last a little longer this time. Anyone have any tricks to make it stay in thus making it last longer?

My sisters stylus is lose because of that.
My stylus hasnt got lose since the day I bought it.
Tho Iam very carefull with my stuff

What part of the stylus gets lose so it wont stick in no more?
If its the neck itself you could try putting a lil piece of tape perhaps.
Tape it arround the place you think that causes the stylus to fall out.

If its the top the part that clicks Ive no idea ^^

I don't think it's a problem with the stylus wearing but the stylus slot wearing. My stylus kept falling out so I changed to the other one that comes with the DSL originally, but even the new one fell out even though it's never been used.

As for a fix, wrap some tape around the top part of the stylus, making it thicker. Problem solved.

Just get a tiny piece of cardboard (like battery packaging).

Fold it smoothly and small enough to fit in the little slot in the top of the stylus.

Trim as needed to make it all even.

Every once in awhile I'll find the tip of the stylus in my mouth, but I wouldn't call it "chewing". Also, every time I switch to a new stylus it fits much better so it's definitely the stylus that's wearing out. Maybe just a piece of tape on it will help it stay a little better...

A piece of tape definetely works. Just put it at the very base of the stick, right next to the little handle/top thingy.

Buy one of those bigger stylus pens that come with the shoddy screen protectors. Always use those instead of the stylus.

Yep, i use a teeny piece of tape and it keeps in in there perfect. My stylus is metal so there is less friction, i really needed it lol.

The thing holding the stylus in is a little nub on top of the pen, that clicks into the groove inside the chamber. You can easily see the nub and the point where it catches, and on the styluses that fall out, you probably don't have much of a nub left, so it won't stay in.

There's a trick we use for toys with loose joints, and it may be of help here as well, if you want to try it. Maybe on a spare old stylus or something.

Take some super glue gel, and dab a little bit onto the little nub where it's wearing down, then let it set and dry for a few hours -- don't touch it until it's totally dry, which may be until the next morning. When it dries, it will have created a new lump there, which will hopefully be enough to hold the stylus in place for a while longer. It's just a theory, but it's worth a shot -- super glue gel is cheaper than new styluses anyways.

The flimsy piece of plastic on mine is broke so my stylus always fell out.


Just fold up a piece of cardboard/paper and insert it into the slot on the top part of the stylus.
