Hacking Looking To Get R4 To Replace SC:SD - Questions

While my SCSD has worked very well I have been considering getting a slot-1 solution. After reading up on the various solutions and the latest news with the 1.08 kernel having built in action replay support I have decided R4 is the way to go.

I did have a few questions though:

1) Does anyone recommend any US dealers and/or places that ship to the US (i.e. good price and more importanly reliable)?
2) Does anyone recommend any US dealers and/or places that ship to the US that sell the 1GB Kingston (JP)? - From what I have read this is the MSD card to get.
3) Will the SCSD saves work on an R4? If not, is there a program or any other method to concert SCSD saves to an R4 compatible format?

EDIT: I think for the save question, based on what I could find it uses a .sav format which should be compatible with SCSD saves - just looking for verification.

For the above questions, "Dealextreme" isn't on the list, but some people have had success with it. Personally, I wouldn't touch that place with a barge pole.

Oh, you only need a Kingston-JAP card if you want to play castlevania POR. Any other card will be fine if you're not bothered about this ROM (a single ROM in a thousand, ok two roms if you count EU and US releases haha). More info : http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=42846

Thanks. That's what i get for doing searches using things like "r4", "sc", "us", etc that are too small and overlook the obvious. That does appear to answer all my questions and I see there is a tool that will do the save conversion so I think I am set!

One follow up question: The Kingston card that does work with POR has serial number SD-C01G. Does anyone know where I can order one (preferably in the US)? The FAQ recommends Newegg which lists 4 cards in total, but both the 1GB versions have different serial numbers and no info as to whether they are produced in Taiwan or Japan. I checked pricegrabber as well as google. Pricegrabber came up empty and google just came back with threads from sites talking about the card (in most cases with the r4) but nothing on where I could buy that specific card.

I got my R4 from Real Hot Stuff. They are based in New Jersey. Took only 6 days to get it once I ordered.....but I ordered on a Friday night, so there was likely a whole weekend added to the wait. If you buy through them, use the code RHS07 for a 5% discount. Best DS purchase I ever made.

I got my SCminiSD from them too, but that's beside the point. I will likely buy my next slot2 card (M3) from them too. I don't like to spread my credit card numbers through too many places, know what I mean?

Thanks! I just ordered the R4 + 1GB Kingston (Japan) card from them - 63.55 shipped (with the 5% off). Ordering them separately and figuring in shipping, etc would have cost a little more, so this appeared to be the best deal!
