I have about $700 to spend. Something that can handle several programs with little to no slow down. all suggestions are welcome.

I want to buy a desktop computer too.

I'm pretty sure I want a Core i5 for the CPU

i'm impressed by this new gen of Intel CPUs. And I can't afford an i7

Heh, I ended up building my comp from scratch. I had to go all the way to Orange County to get the pieces. But all in all I spent under 700 and the result is a better computer I would've ever got for the price.

Just a tip buy the hardware you want sepratly then build it urself it usually saves u 100-300 bux

~$100 going into the OS anyway for pre-built systems. Many amatuer system builders opt for a less-than-lawful OS to save that money and put it into better parts. After all, hardware is (arguably) more important than software.
