Looking for screen capture software.

Does anyone know of any software that I could use to capture a specific region of my PC window for like a skype webcam. I know skype allows you to share screens for the full screen and windows but in some cases it won't share specific windows. What I want to do is capture a small portion of my screen for a skype webcam so I can share it with friends. Any suggestions?

OBS or xsplit should do nicely. (No I'm not stalking you, your threads just keep popping up in recent threads on the homepage)

Is it free or do you have to pay for it? Also will it work as a webcam selection on skype?

OBS is free, xsplit no, yes OBS will let you set up a webcam.

Perfect. I'll give it a try and let you know if I'm successful. I don't have anyone to skype to test it out atm but I should be able to go into options to test it. Hopefully my wifi is strong enough to support me streaming through skype my 3DS streaming. That's the plan after all.

So at this point I'm still looking for a device, software anything that I can select a part of my screen to show to someone else online. Whether that be through a link to something or a screen capture device that can act as a webcam when on a call with someone on oh say skype. Does anyone know anything?

Team viewer will allow you to share a specific window, if that helps?
