Hacking little help on my cfw

i just bought a 2nd hand psp 2000 and it came with a PRO nightly cfw. Can someone explain to me what that is? I'm not that familiar with PRO. My psp fat was on M33-6 and can comfortably switch to Gen with ease and i understand well how that goes but im really new to this PRO firmware and i don't want getting my new slim end up as a paper weight. oh, and yeah its on TA-088v3 mobo too.

PRO b9,10,.. are hacks that is not perma. You need to boot everytime you turn psp on.

So when u wanna play games,you turn on your psp but its OFW(official firmware) then you need to go fast recovery and its LCFW(custom firmware)
I use cfw pro b10 and i think its cool.

but i recommend you up it to Pro-B10
as thats the latest

nightlys are unstable releases but for some people they couldnt wait for a stable

Yeah i forgot to say that there is perma patch, i think 6.20 pro Bx have perma match

since he has a 2k, he can even make 6.39 and 6.60 perma using CIPL flasher.

who made nightlys anyway? are they in the same line with B10?

Am i perfectly safe to change my cfw with 6.20 PRO B10 Permanent Patch? i read that some mobo like what i have can be bricked.

nightlys are made by the same team, no, the nightlys now would be like B11, depends on what they're gonna call it.

sorry but im a bit confused. The seller told me that she doesnt know how cfw works so im guessing someone did it for her when she bought the psp and never got updated. she told me she bought it last 2009. my question is when did nightly got released? i doubt its B11 like you said. is there a former builds of nightlys?

If you're already on PRO... then it's gonna be easy updating to 6.20 PRO-B10.fix1. Just follow Rydian's guide, which was linked to you. 6.20 enables you to have a permanent patch, regardless of your PSP 2000 motherboard.

ok i see now..since I'm on PRO does that mean I'm using 6.20? and all I have to do is update it to PRO B10 perma right?

will it corrupt my save files after updating?

You can check your firmware under Settings > System Settings > System Information.

If you're not on 6.20, follow the guide and update to 6.20 OFW first. Then install PRO-B10.fix1. It's all in the guide. No idea about save files, I think it's safe between PRO versions.

its says "PRO Nightly" how can i tell what firmware is that??

No it doesn't really mean you're on 6.20. In order to determine which firmware you're using, check your firmware by going to System Settings then System Information on your PSP.

yep im looking at it now. It says "System Software: PRO Nightly" ..im pretty sure there should be numbers here that represent the firmware but nope.

You can just download 6.xx pro b10 and run Update,press x and u installed it. If you want.

If you restart your PSP, do you have to run a FastRecovery to get back to PRO? If PRO gets unloaded, you can check your OFW via the same option. If no, your firmware might be permanently installed using CIPL, in which case you have to uninstall your CIPL first to get PRO back to temporary. If it was 6.20 and it was permanent, it should show the OFW version and the PRO version in system software.

nope, it stays on PRO even on full shutdown. ok I'm going to uninstall CIPL like you said.. anything else i need to look out for? I mean no bricking involve with this CIPL uninstall?
