You gotta have some kind of Whiskey. If Blue label is too expensive, then at least go for the Red Label. Jack Daniels and Hennessy is also very good.

wtf.gif
As expected of Bonemonkey... you spelled liquor wrong...
My favorite is a pretty classy tasting one:
Johnnie Walker's Blue Label

That's a joke right ?
wtf.gif
Why would I be joking, it's the best blend I've tasted that my money can buy.

Because you said you're muslim.

Well, that depends on how strict you are. I'm an Uzbek, which is a Turkic Nationality. Ever met a Turkish guy before? They drink like crazy.

My grandparents and the generations before that never drank even when the Russian presented Alcohol, but after the revolution when Stalin tried to eliminate religion, some of us who lost faith started drinking. To this day even the people who said they are Muslims drink. To my knowledge many of my Sunni friends do.

Mmm, booze.... I'm a Rum and Whiskey sort myself.

I like Bacardi Rum for cheap mixers, (like rum and coke...) and Barbencourt or Pusser's for drinking.

For Whiskey, I like Jim or Jack for mixers, (like whiskey sour) and Jameson, Powers, or Crown Royal for drinking.

Vodka is generally too astringent for my tastes, but I do like stuff like Persephone, which is a Pomegranate vodka.

And of course, Kahlua, which is always good.

Velvedere vodka is overpriced here, you should try Stoli or Wyborowa, wich is a cheap and a good option.
If you are going to mix White russians, go ahead with Stoli vanil and half n half. The best IMO
Don't forget the Tequila, Herradura and Don Julio are my favorites. Jose Cuervo and Patron are cheap options.
My favorite Rums are from Cuba so forget about it in the States, you should try the dominican Barceló or Brugal.
Gin, Bombay Shaphire or Tanqueray
Maker's Mark Bourbon Whisky, wild turkey, Canadian Club
Cachaca from Brazil
Cointreau
Spanish brandy, Fundador
Campari
Cinzano rosso
Noilly Prat

Limes, oranges, lemons, olives

If you are going with one drink just like Bourbon, Rum, Tequila... Don't change it or have beers or something, it's the best
tip I can tell you to avoid the hangover

Yeah, if you really want to stock a full bar, and have a nice liquor "collection", you need the basics, but also some flavorings... like, find a cocktail you enjoy, purchase the ingredients, then learn what else you can make using those ingredients, and pick up those additional things, until you have a variety of things to mix with.

I have a huge sweet tooth, so I don't much care for tequila, which I find too bitter. But I have creme de menthe, creme de cacao, and vodka for making grasshoppers... kahlua and caramel rum for making mudslides, vanilla stoli for making white or black russians, rum and whiskey for mixing with pretty much any dark soda (coke, dr.P, root beer)...

One of my other personal favorites is Raspberry Vodka and Mountain Dew.

I'd like the idea of following in my family's tradition of collection alcohol and never drinking them. I see ones where the bottles are beautifully made... while some that are just normal supermarket booze. But really, how long can alcohol keep without opening it? Surely it can keep for years? I would hate the idea of booze having a best before date where you'd rather drink them all in one go or risk pouring it down the sink or... heaven forbid... organise a cocktail party.

I do not drink anymore but fun ales like above are a conversation starter. Failing that black label vodka (or silver if you can find it), stay away from the 'orrible red Smirnoff stuff though.
