I'm looking for a lightweight music player.
I currently use Zune because it looks sexy but there must be something 'lighter'.

Really, it just needs to be able to show album art and not fuck with my tags (or something that can't even read the tags and I have to sort it all out (fuck iTunes messing with my tags)).

Thanks!

Edit: Oh and I hate how Winamp looks just in case you suggest it.

Spotify? Since you're in the UK, you can use it. It's very light and can play any local media (files on your desktop) and also any song in the cloud library (which makes for listening to new songs/albums a breeze).

If you don't want the cloud aspect, try foobar2000.

Spotify - Is there any way to change how the library looks?
Right now, it's all one big dump and I have to search. I'd rather have clicking on the artist > album > songs

I'll try foobar but last time I tried it, I didn't like it that much.

Nope, I'm guessing that would still show every single song but in order of artists.

Something like Zune, iTunes and WMP has got, where it shows you just the artist, then it shows you the albums by that artist, then the songs of that album.

Edit: Foobar doesn't like Japaneszu tags or they was already fucked in the first place.

Media Player Classic is the "lightest" media player. Personally I prefer WinAmp with the Flo skin - it turns it into a single bar which is everything I want for just music.

iTunes is the heaviest media player I've encountered... I hate it so much.

Yup, when I had an iPod Touch I was using it.
Pretty much fucks your tags over but I don't deny it's great for it's library and sorting.

Just that it's so shit on Windows.

+1 for Foobar but it seems you've already tried it. I know you can heavily customize it, but to do that it takes some work and research.
If you don't find any other music player, I really suggest you give Foobar another chance. Maybe check out their forums and ask your gripes there.

You can filter for anything on Spotify, though the best for that (that isn't cloud) is iTunes. It's heavy on Windows, true, but it's good enough for me for what Spotify can't do.
