Not sure if this is the right place or not, but I'm running the patched (Eximius patched with suxxors) version of Last Window on YSmenu 6.40. In the changelog it says that version 6.40 should bypass the cracktro, but it still shows up everytime I run the game. It's not a big deal and I'm happy that I'm actually able to play the game, but it gives me the feeling that something in the system isn't working properly. Any ideas?

Lots of games that have apparently been fixed aren't working on YSmenu. Chrono Trigger, Last Window cracktro bypass and Proffesor Layton and the Lost Future aren't working when it's been stated in the changelog that they do work. Something is wrong and it doesn't take a genius to figure it out. If you have nothing helpful to post then don't bother as you're wasting your time and mine.

EDIT: Ok, everything works properly now. Apparently, retro didn't update the m3patch.dat file in his release, but using Gaboros' package fixed everything.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.

I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Slightly slower loading but a bit more convenient
