Konami's New Silent Hill Game: A Slot Machine

It isn't easy to think of anything nice to say about Konami right now. Between the cutting of ties with Kojima, the innate focus on mobile gaming being the companies' future, and the abrupt takedown of Silent Hill.

However, Konami still seems to think they have something for those upset Silent Hill fans. And their latest gamble sure isn't paying off for them. Their latest reveal trailer, posted above, has about 99% dislikes, and the sheer brutality in the comments would make a 4chan troll weep with happiness.

It's no surprise that Konami decided to continue along its path of gambling machines and the mobile scene, but the fact that they could bring one of their biggest franchises so low, has the fans in an uproar.

Konami, you've hit a new low. I only wish this were a late April fools joke. Instead, I'm sure I can look begrudgingly to the future of Metal Gear Solid card games and Castlevania themed pachinko.

I've never seen a YouTube video nearly saturated in a lake of dislikes before. Wow.

What a bizarre idea. No doubts that no one was hoping for this from Konami.

I feel like crying, like legit actually breaking down in tears. Why couldn't they have just ended Silent Hill on a high note? Just killed it with the Demo and wrapped it up. Instead they shit all over it.

This may be bad, but what is disgraceful is the way Konami seems to be treating its staffs and employees.. ..their methods would make Nazis proud (you can google that stuff if you want).

This company doesn't means shit to me anymore.. ..but it's bad that some game franchises need to suffer too.

Konami is not the great video game company I remember growing up, that's for sure. I would have loved to play Silent Hills as the PT demo looked like something I would buy a system for just to play. The reports of how Konami treats their employees is horrible if true as well. It's sad seeing the state they're in and seemingly shifting focus away from console video games.

Let's be honest here though. If you went to a casino, wouldn't you want to play a video game themed slot machine over say... the ones with colored 7s or fruit? I sure would. Konami has an entire section of their business devoted to pachinko and slot machines. For them to not use freely available, and popular brands for them would be silly.

Well, Konami did a good job on something, they actually brought the hell from the Silent Hill Series into reality, especially to their fanbase, and let me tell you, they are doing a good job on there, fuck...

Has the Konami CEO discovered an Uwe Boll style tax loophole where they make more money by fucking up than they could with the kind of games they used to be legends for? It's the only logical explanation I could come up with for why they want to drive the company into the ground like a tent peg. At least the only one that didn't involve alien cloning pods, a catastrophic mental breakdown or having recently been hit on the head with a fourteen pound lump hammer.

Seriously, Konami, you were gods once. You could take anything and make it great. You made a game about Noah's Ark at least playable. Even your insane NES peripherals worked. What the hell happened? You went from a dominating force to being the laughing stock of the entire industry. Keep this up and we'll have to officially rename you Sonic the Hedgehog.

if i went to a casino, loosing all my money on slots would be "horror" enough... i don't need a slot machine with a horro theme as irony... also, scream at me is a bad idea in case it does that...
well, at least i can agree its better than showing a rainbow saying "haha, you lose"

You act like Uwe Boll came up with the idea.

WTF!!! a slot machine, surely that's a joke, right? Why give the impression of a brand new Silent Hill game with game shots and then real in a slot machine? Got to be a wind up by Konami this has!
