Hello guys,

I have a Wii with a 003 error. With the disk swap method ( Mario Kart US and SSBB PAL ) I was able to install the HBC and create a backup. At this point it was 4.3U installed. The setting.txt looked like this:

AREA = USA, MODEL = RVL-001 (KOR), DVD = 0, MPCH = 0x7FFE, CODE = LKM, SERNO = 10237xxxx, VIDEO = NTSC, GAME = US

Since I had the keys.bin und nand.bin I created a new nand.bin with the program ohneschwanzenegger ( Version 4.1K ). But in the end I wasn't sure what to enter in setting.txt. I decided to do the following:

AREA = KOR, MODEL = RVL-001 (KOR), DVD = 0, MPCH = 0x7FFE, CODE = LKM, SERNO = 10237xxxx, VIDEO = PAL, GAME = KR

I played the new nand.bin with bootmii on the Wii. The Wii starts again but does not recognize a game. The drive is ok and with the USB loader I can also start games from the drive. I think it's because of the setting.txt and I would like to set it up so that my EU games work. Does anyone have an idea for my problem ?

best regards

Use Modmii's main wizard or syscheck updater wizard, then 2nd use Modmii's region change wizard to go to PAL

Priiloader has some region free hacks you can use, so really you should be able to be on whatever region you prefer. But region changing is generally not something you should be doing frequently, pick 1 and stick with it (unless you're experienced and testing something). You can always create/use other region emulated nands if something doesn't work under your real nand region

Thank you for the help. Should I try to continue working with the defective Nand ? I forgot that I can install the HBC but unfortunately cannot start an app e.g. syscheck, yamm, priiloader ...

Yes, I still have the org. nand.bin from the first bootmii backup. I've tried a few other apps and some can actually be started, such as anyregionchanger1.1b and koerankii

so I should flash my (with ohneschwanzenegger) created nand with bootmii again on the wii. Then e.g. carry out a syscheck and then let me evaluate it with modmii? Otherwise I can't get a syscheck ...

I would like to create a new nand with the right settings ( setting.txt ) for a Korean wii.

I thought ohneschwanzenegger only required the wii's original keys.bin? Is there a settings.txt requirement as well I'm not aware of?

I was saying I think the steps should work in either state, so u can try before restoring a nand backup, and if it fails, restore your alternate backup and try again. If u can't run syscheck but can run other tools, you could use modmii's main wizard instead (answer Q's as if the console were a virgin)

I had created a new nand based on the defective nand. the new nand also needs boot1, boot2 and keys. You can take them from the defective nand. After the download, the setting.txt opens which you have to create.

yesterday evening i used the nand formatter from comex. I installed the following .wad files:

EULA-NUS-v3, IOS31-64-v3608, IOS36-64-v3608, IOS60-64-v6174, Region Select-NUS-v2, RVL-WiiSystemmenu-v454.

My setting.txt looked like this:

AREA = KOR, MODEL = RVL-001 (KOR), DVD = 0, MPCH = 0x7FFE, CODE = LKM, SERNO = 10237xxxx, VIDEO = PAL, GAME = KR

The Wii restarts and I performed an online update to 4.3k. then I installed the HBC, bootmii via letterbomb and carried out a syscheck. I analyzed it via ModMii and downloaded the necessary files to update it. Now I have 4.1k on it again and I have also installed the Priiloader and set Block Disc Updates, Block Online Updates, Region Free GC Games, Region Free Wii Games and Region Free Wii Channels to enabled. Unfortunately, the Wii still doesn't read a game. It only works with the USB loader. Does anyone have an idea?

I tested the drive on another Wii. It works fine. I could imagine that it may be due to a setting on the priiloader or an IOS / CIOS.

Do disks work via usbloaders or neogamma?

Please post a syscheck
https://gbatemp.net/threads/posting-a-system-check.300279/

And/or drag and drop your syscheck.csv onto modmii.exe for it to analyze it for u

Still sounds like hardware issues to me, but I could be mistaken

Edit: you could try neek as well if u want to try your luck using that method

I tested it with the USB Loader GX and the Junior Fitness Trainer game. That worked perfectly. Here is my current syscheck :

I started the USB Loader GX and put Junior Fintness Trainer in the drive. With the + button I was able to copy the game to the USB stick without any problems. Do I need the cIOS 236 on this Wii? ModMii tells me I would be up to date when I analyze the sysycheck.

I was able to install sneek but it's unbelievable: The drive still doesn't read the games. It only works with the USB Loader GX. I haven't tried neogamma yet.
