Seen any good films lately?
I saw the Damned United a weeks ago. It was good but did portray Cloughie having a unhealthy obession with Don Revie.
First console you remember playing on?
The Master System. I was about four at the time and My parents bought it for me after we went to someone's house, where thier son had one. He didn't let me play despite he stole my Robocop action figue. Random memory.
First console you owned?
The Mster System with Sonic built in. My parents never bought me any other games though so was I stuck with that despite the Mega Drive and SNES being out.
Favourite console you've owned?
This is proably going to amaze people but the PS3/DS combo wins easily for me. I owned a PS1/PS2/GB but I didn't have many games for them at all. The PS1 and PS2 I was only allowed to buy one game a year and for the GB I only had Pokemon. There wasn't much money to spend on games which led to download Pokemon Gold when I was 10. But this Generation has been different. We haven't become rich but the finances are much more secure and I'm in control of buying games which means I've now have a decent variety of games which has given me more enjoyment. I've had my PS3 for nearly a year and I already own eighteen retail games and five PSN games.
What kind of music do you generally listen to when gaming?
I usually listen to the in game music. Most of the time it suffices. Also some music I listen to just wouldn't fit in with the gamesI play. Playing Half Lie 2 with Goldfrapp int eh background just sounds absurd.
Your thoughts on the coalition government so far?
Well policy wise I was never going to be supportive of the Lib Cons. I'm yet to be convinced that the Conservatives care about society's most vulnerable and the Lib Dems under Clegg have been very lame. Clegg seriously is an underwhelming leader. But I'll judge their poerformance as a government. Lansley and Gove seem hell bent on branding free market ideals on health and education with thier reasoning being unconvincing. Gove has shown himself to be an idiot by the number of times he's fucked up already. Osborne- I never had much hope for him, I still live in fear. Actually during the budget I swear I saw a glint in his eye when announced Child benefit would be forzen. David Laws didn't cover himself in glory and rightly showed why he would have joined the Tories had they not have been homophobic in the 1990s/ Alexander seems to be a demi-Laws. May hasn't gotting on my nerves as much as I thought thought there's still time. Warsi, I thought was an idiot before the election and has done little to change that. Cable is now in charge of a department, e doesn't beleive should exist which is brilliant. Clegg-I always thought he would speak like the grandest man alive but has the spine of a mouse. His performances in the disaptch box have been poor. Cameron- Big Society=bullshit and I also wondered how he could piss Pakistan off so much. His shout and run style of diplomacy is laughable. There's been some good. Better treatment of child asylum seekers i.e. not locked up.
How is it that Nick Griffin can survive so long when he's clearly got less than a handful of brain cells?
I'm more amazed on how het gets votes. If you read the BNP manifesto there are a good number of laughable ideas.
What's your opinion on the English/Welsh/Scottish Defence Leagues?
They really come across as complete idiots. Protesting against Islamic fundamentalism at Mosques which have no links to extremist groups just make you look like idiotc racists. It's like me protesting about Catholic Priests abusing children at a random church. ALso some of them came here to Harrow but we're scared off
What do you think is gonna happen in Bradford when the EDL go there at the end of this month?
I honestly have no idea. Bradford have a high Muslim remographic so this has the potential to offend a community.
Don't you think it's about time a new political movement started that wasn't based on the trappings of the Left/Right stereotypes?
That would be wonderful but christ almighty, people have the potential to be so stupid. Saying that I've met a more than my fair share of middle class student hard left socialists who seem to have no idea about social mobility or releiving poverty.
Think Labour will ever return to it's socialist roots or are we stuck with 2 corporatist parties now?
We have three corporatist parties the Lib Dems can be socially destructive as the big two. I think one day, we'll Labour become a good Social Democratic party but I don't think that's going to happen untill the party really sorts themselves out and develop principles which they really are comforatble with.
Read any good books lately?
The End of the Party- Andrew Lawnsley
Books that you've read that changed the way you think?
I wouldn't sya any books have changed the way I think but some books have reinforced my views such as 1984 which alerted me to how demoralising authoritian governments can be.
Favourite insult?
Insults vary on teh person. The more personal the better.
Do you think the phrase "It's political correctness gone mad" is a valid one in todays society?
In certain insane cases it is valid like calling Christmas the WInter Festival. In other cases such as the defence of casual racist language it just isn't acceptable. There's no reason why a shop owned by a Pakistani person should be referred as 'the paki shop' That's not political correctness, that's just being respectful.
If there was one person you could give a good slap without any comebacks who would it be?
SO many people I would love to slap but not enough slaps FOr now I will say Daniel Hannan. He's an utter twat.
