So, it turns out Kinect is using the infra-red projection, which can be seen by a camera.
You can think of it as a WiiMote merged with a sensor bar.

Huh. I was under the assumption that it was a heat-sensing camera. Hence the red blobs in the Your Shape ad.

EDIT: @ComplicatioN: Doubt it. The product has to go through a lot of testing before hitting the market to make sure it's suitable for use.

holy crap! i dont know why but i find that really impressive. it must be a b-- to protect and manage all those lights.

I wasn't really interested before I heard the news. I just thought it was a shame. but am relieved for anyone who wants this.

(I think the US consumer report is just as reliable as these rumors)

Except Gamestop is the troll of the video game market.
I think "gamespot: was misspelled.

On another note, I read a bit of the article and it said only the face-tracking has problems and shouldn't at all affect the motion sensing aspect of gameplay. But just the knowledge of some people not being able to use something to its fullest potential sets me off

On another note, If you fall into that group of people. you can possible do what Dave Chappelle does when he plays a Caucasian person in his sketches

From what I can remember, infra-red is extremely safe. When infra-red waves are absorbed by the body, heat is produced and that's it I think.

But the heat generated from these devices is often too little to be felt, almost negligible. So it is very safe, rest assured
