Okay,I couldn't find any place for Kindle troubleshooting, and no google search yielded any answers, except for one guy having the same problem, but no answers there either.
Basicly,my Kindle 3 Wi-Fi model froze up and I had to hard shut down, and now I can't enter my password in the password box.As in,it will recognize me pushing the 5-way down and pull up my password hint, but when I try typing nothing happens. Not even a wrong password notification if I press enter.
Also, why isn't there an e-book reader forum? The nook was hacked FYI.
EDIT:And so was the kindle apparently...
    Mods close please,problem solved.

Your best bet is to go to a local store that sells them. I'd recommend Best Buy because they offer replacements if you have a problem that can't be fixed normally. I don't think you can fix it by yourself.

Why not contact Amazon's tech support for Kindle? My sister's Kindle died a few months after the warranty ran out, and they sent her a new one anyway....

I'd rather not have to send the kindle into tech support. If I have to send it in or call them,I'd do that, but only if this gets pages of answers saying it can't be fixed normally.
    Any other solutions?

There's nothing to lose by calling them (unless you have tons of illegal content on it). They should be able to tell you in a few minutes if you can fix it over the phone, or have to send it in.

Looked even further by going to some kindle forums, nothing there either. This must either be a really bad bug,or a really underclocked CPU/bad case of RAM shortage.
Guess I'll give them a call.

We must remember this as the thread that wasn't spam and lasted 15 minutes.

EDIT:Dad held down power slider longer than I did(20 seconds or so).Kindle went into the normal booting screen process.
