imo, Streetpass is more for the people of Japan than elsewhere. While we may not get as much out of it, it must get used a lot there.
Actually, StreetPass is mostly for *kids*.

The density of 3DS users rises significantly whenever you're close to a school, really. "Adult" gamers need to equip themselves with inconspicuous vans they could park near it if they want the pleasure of StreetPassing.

But yeah, Japan is pretty densly populated so it surely works better there.
I think the street pass in Japan must be used like when people get together in Japan to play Monster Hunter in co-op and go someplace together so they can all play and trade stuff, seeing some stuff can be done with street pass, like the puzzles, pokemons for the 3D pokedex, weapons for the upcomming Kid Icarus, and prolly some other stuff that will still come or that I don't even know about... In Japan pretty much everyone that had a DS or a PSP most likely already have a 3DS (seeing as in Japan most own more than one platform), so it'll prolly get a lot of use there. =S
In Europe and America tho, besides for the Street Pass events that people organise from time to time, you're lucky if you manage to find more than one person in a day.

Here in Santiago, i've found at least 7 people through StreetPass, including ghost time trials (MK7), street fighter 4 data, etc. A portable handheld system has yet to offer something like this. I'm not a kid and I love the streetpass feature. To me, this is the next step a handheld should've taken years ago since Wifi internet gameplay on videogame consoles (2005-2008).

I'm sorry but did everyone completly miss the words "works with items obtained in single player" and so what if you don't streetpass, hasent anyone noticed that almost all 3DS games that yse the feature have a single player way to obtain its content?
