I cannot seem to get my USB keyboard working with animal crossing city folk. I've looked through other guides but they didn't work.

This might have nothing to do with your issue, but you should reinstall IOS249 using base 56, as that's the recommended setup. Keep in mind there is no hotplug support in v10-beta52, the keyboard must be plugged in before you launch the game. Also, whenever a game is not working it's always a good idea to try it with both base 56 and base 57, sometimes a game requires one or the other.

Just because a game uses ios36 does not mean a cios that uses ios36 as a base is required.

Do as suggested previously and try d2x v8 final base 56 (or d2x v10 beta 52, pretty much the same thing)

Edit: game uses ios38, not 36

The one we suggested, install it to slot 250. You have the same CIOS installed to slots 249 and 250, making them redundant. You can install a number of other recommended cios's, and in your loader change the game setting to use a different ios slot until you find one that works.

If unsure of recommended cios's, use Modmii's syscheck updater wizard, and it will make some suggestions based on your unique syscheck

I guess you have a point. Tbf when I was 6, I tried looking for the homebrew channel to put it on my wii u. On the Wii, I thought, it appeared out of the blue.

ok. since you seems to be willing to learn, I can give you a "short" start:
1. ios are what Nintendo give low level hardware access to apps. All games and even the system menu requires an ios to run.
Wii is not multi-tasking and hence only one ios is active at a time, all other ios are just sitting there until a new app asked for a new ios.
2. cios is required when you want to play disk game from SD/USB. The cios will redirect all disk access to SD/USB
3. Since different game requires different ios, you will need a number of cios to be installed.
4. The easiest way to create cios is to Customize(modify) stock ios (the base)
5. Fortunately, newer game ios (up to 57) are mostly compatible with older ios, you don't need to keep cios with all the bases but some games will still need special treatments.
6. ios and cios and installed to "slots". e.g ios9 is install to slot 9 and cios249 to slot 249.
Up to Wii's end, Nintendo has limited stock ios slot to below 100 and it is a de facto Standard for cios to be installed above slot 200 to avoid messing up stock ios.
7. slot 249 was chosen as the default to most modern loaders though that can be changed with global settings. You can also override the the global setting with per game settings so that you don't have to mess with the settings everytime once it is set up properly.

If you want to dig deeper, try search through Cyan's posts.

Hello

On one condition ==> If this cios 222 has been installed correctly on this console !! !!:D
according to his latest syscheck, he has nothing installed in slot 222...
Many noobs still make the same mistake - assuming others has the same setup as themselves and the content of the slots are always fixed.
In fact, you can install anything to any slot - you can install d2x base57 all over the places
