Hi everyone,

I have a dilemma. I own a N3DS firmware 9.0EUR with Emunand firmware 11.2USA. I use menuhax+ctrbootmanager to boot Luma3DS and Gateway3DS.

I would like to get arm9loaderhax instead of menuhax but I'm not sure if its the best thing to do.

In the end, I would like to :
-keep my original firmware (9.0EUR)
-boot on either Luma3DS or Gateway3DS (I do like my Gateway)
-keep Emunand 11.2USA

I know there's a section on Plailect guide about Region changing. The way I understand it, it seems like I would change my Sysnand region and lose Emunand.

Any imputs would be appreciated.

Older versions of the guide had steps for emunand. What you want to do is completely possible. For example I have a JPN N3DS with a U sysnand and J emunand (I know that sounds backwards but it's not). I swappped them because I primarily use the U system menu and I have a bad habit of deleting my nand backups. You have to try really hard to delete an emunand partition so it seemed like a safe place to keep my band backup.

The process is very simple. Complete the guide as written. That's it. While you're going through it just pretend that your emunand does not exist.

In the luma config screen there is an option to autoboot sysnand. Turn that off and you will boot into your emunand every time.

Thanks! Ok so the Emunand part is clear. My other issue is to be able to boot Luma3DS and/or Gateway3DS. Will Ctrbootmanager still work with arm9loaderhax? Also, do I need to remove menuhax before installing arm9loader?

Gateway is not natively supported in the newer a9lh versions. You will have to use Ctrbootmanager9 or something similar to launch Gateway. The regular Ctrbootmanager will not work.

Menuhax is needed during the a9lh install. When you are complete you can uninstall it and use the homebrew launcher cia instead.
