Hacking Homebrew JXD 301

Anyone seen this yet? Unlike a lot of generic MP4 players, this one plays games pretty well, aside from GBA. This could also end up better than it is now; the forums there have a few GP2X pros looking through the firmware, which seems to contain the emulators.

Couldn't you just use a PSP instead and have additional things like GBA and PS1 emulation?

What are its advantages? Size and codec compatability?

Why did everything switch to MP4 all of a sudden...?

Just get MediaMonkey or WinLame and do a mass conversion to 192kbps .mp3

I am planing on ordering one today myself with some money I made on eBay.

I already have a GP2X and a PSP, but the size and the screen quality look very appealing. It seems to run SNES quite well (aside from the lack of shoulder buttons

) and that alone would make it worth while even if it does not live up to the promise some people think it has.

Besides, its fun to get in on the ground floor with these things.
