Just how performance intensive are DS emulators?

Try melonDS, I'm not sure exactly how much lighter it is but I'm fairly certain it's lighter than DeSmuME as DeSmuME is really heavy, I struggle to hit 60 FPS in DeSmuME on normal settings when I can typically run Citra fine.

There's also no$gba if you need an emulator that runs on super old computers, it runs on DOS lol, sounds like that's not what you're looking for though if you're trying to push internal render resolution. No$gba is a great debugger, but it's not great for just playing games if you have literally any other option.

I've also heard DraStic in Bluestacks or such runs better than any native PC emulator (though melonDS may be getting close?), however I'm not sure it can do what you want either as I've never used it.
