Hacking Just got my ebay refurbed Wii U

Now how do i make sure I dont mess it up?

Its on firmware 5.4.0

I turned it on after unplugging my router to check.

I ordered a 64gb sd card and reader with the $25 ebay gift card nintendo included.. Lol nice of them..

So i have to wait until i get that in mail approx july 28.

I guess i should leave it unplugged until i get all the stuff.

Kinda wanna play nintendoland just to make sure the wii u works but let me know if i have to get it to higher firmware or something thats NOT 5.5.2. i def want to do haxchi with brain age and all that good stuff

Just get it to 5.5.1. It seems you are already aware of what to do, but just get to 5.5.1 and then start installing things to it.

There MIGHT be the update on Paper Mario... but we don't know for sure.

I can confirm it has 5.5.1. I did the update on one of my units using Paper Mario Color Splash. I believe Breath of the wild and handful of other titles have the 5.5.1 update.

I don't think BotW has an update, but Mario Party 10 has 5.5.1; you (OP) might find it for cheap compared to Color Splash.

You can't use NNU patcher unless you have a homebrew entrypoint. No way to use homebrew on vanilla 5.5.2 right now.

Sorry should have listened to us begging you to use HaxChi all these months. Fix94 must be feeling pretty great right now. Single handedly saved us all.

im not on 5.5.2 im on 5.4.0

He is on 5.4.0 so NNU Patcher should work shouldnt it?
The question i cant answer is, does haxchi Work on 5.4.0?

After installing haxchi on 5.4.0 he could update to the newest firmware

No. HaxChi only works on 5.5.1. Update to 5.5.1 using one if the disc games then the OP will be fine

dang it. gotta spend more money. i guess i can always go to gamestop buy a used copy of darksiders or something then return it right away.

That is an excellent idea. I wish I had thought of that. Just buy Color Splash and then return it.

Alright so I did the same thing and just got mine too and it came with 5.4.0 too, I set up the dns to block nintendo updates and was able top get hbc up and running.

here's the thing...

I can't for the life of me figure out how to link my nnid at all. It says I need to be on the current fw. I've tried launching the nnu-patcher and while the patcher works, I still can't link my nnid without updating to the current fw.

If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know.
