Hardware just got a wii

i just got a wii yesterday and want to mod. I ordered a wiikey then started reading about the d2c stuff. I cant seem to find any up to date info. If i just got the wii would it be the d2c chipset? and if that is the case this will not work http://www.modchipstore.com/Wiikey-Nintend...ater-16430.html. thanks in advance

Wiikey are for the older chipset of the Wii. D2c are the newer chipset of Wii's so I'd presume that your Wii is D2C. Look under your Wii you will see a serial if the number is less than 10216 then you can use wiikey if not you need a D2c modchip such as D2ckey or D2cPro or wasabi. (Wasabi also works with previous chips)

I would recommend the new Wasabi chip since it only requires 9 wires.

id say u go for the d2pro as it is updateable. Iv got a d2ckey on my wii and iv had no problems at all with it!!! my ssbb works great now!!!

I'd say steer away from the d2ckey chip unless you know what you're doing. I couldn't be more happy with mine, but it's not easy to install.
