And I had a question about it.

Which games NEED a Memory Pak to save? I like the rumble, but as we all know, you can't have rumble AND memory paks.

And that TremorPak thing looks cool, but it apparently eats batteries like a Game Gear...Of course nobody thought to combine that with one of the more modern battery-free rumble paks that came later in the console's lifespan.

I remember Duck dodgers I think needed one.

I know Mario Kart 64 needs one for ghost data, but I'm not sure if Mario 64 and Banjo-Kazooie need one.

you are certainly right about mario karts ghost data. mario 64 and the banjo games saved to cartridge though. As for a game that saved to the mem pak, the 4 turok games used mem paks off the top of my head

it depends on what games you have, you should have put a list of what games you have with your n64 and go from there, for a start i know goldeneye requires a memory pak.

I don't have any games, sadly. It didn't come with any.

I was going to start with Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie, and Diddy Kong Racing. Maybe even a lesser-known game like Buck Bumble.

Do a search for [MCS] to skip right to the games that need the pak.

I never really got why we needed the controller pak in the first place with a cartridge based system, but whatever. A lot of sports games annoyningly needed the whole card. Turok 2 needed most of a card.

The only games I came across on the N64 that needed the mem pack were DK64 (came bundled with) and Perfect Dark.
Could well be others though.........

I remember Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon needing a Controller Pack, as well as Daikatana, Turok... and some others, but I can't completely recall all of it. Oh btw, gratz with ur n64, I enjoyed it while I was younger, and you shall too.
