Hacking just bought 5.05 console

All I can think of is that there is a firewall blocking the connection.

Are you able to FTP into your PS4 from your PC ok?

i made sure to allow the program through my firewall. i even turned off my firewall completely.

i'm not sure what you mean by FTP in to the PS4. the only thing i have tried to do is transfer games from PC to PS4 and that does not work. the PS4 is displayed as a connected device on my network.

i noticed a "disable updates" menu in the CFW menu. could that have anything to do with me being unable to transfer games over? is there else anything in this CFW menu that could block connections or downloads?

also noticed MIRA, HEN, HEN 1.8, MIRA+HEN. i clicked MIRA+HEN. does it matter which one i select for file transfers from my pc?

was reading remote package installer requires HEN 1.8 to work. i have two menus for HEN, one says 1.7 and the other says 1.8. wondering if MIRA+HEN is HEN 1.7 and thats why remote package installer isn't working.

Haha I have KP’d about a thousand times through testing, it’s not a big deal.

Now X-Project is stable released it’s very rare a KP happens, but occasionally it happens.

Apparently to do with how memory is flushed from the HEN/debug payload: it’s not an exact science

i got it working. not sure what the problem was, but i installed the "current" version of nodeJS instead of the version recommended for all most users. it had an option during installation to install additional stuff. i also put http://zecoxao.github.io in the web address and i noticed my menu layout is different now. think it downloaded something. this time i clicked HEN 1.8 instead of MIRA+HEN. game transferred over and plays. only other question i have is how do i know when a game is finished transferring? i don't see any status bar or notifications on PKG link. i did notice a notification on PS4 but it goes away within a few seconds and would rather not stare at my screen waiting for larger games to give me the completed notification.

@SmoothNobody Glad to see you got Remote package Installer working.

Once the game has started to transfer you can safely press the PS button on your controller and it will take you back to the main menu on the PS4.
Here you will see the game you are installing with a progress bar.

When you want to install another game, open the Remote package Installer again and repeat the process.

Is your PS4 connect by Wifi or by a LAN cable?
If it is connected by WiFi the transfer speeds are slow and it would be quicker to use a USB drive.
If you are connected by a LAN cable the transfer speeds are significantly increased and are much faster than using a USB drive.

really wish this UI had some kind of notification about transfer started or completed. my work around was opening task manager and watching the data being sent through my network.

i'm using wifi. i actually have two USB drives that won't fit in the USB slots of the PS4. they don't have a few good write speed though. i thought about buying a USB 3.1 cause i see those can do 440mb. but i figured between having to transfer to the drive and then again from the drive it would be quicker to just FTP. i know direct connect is better than wifi but my wifi is 100mb and less than a foot away from my PS4. will it really be much of a difference? only things i can think of is if wifi uses upload instead of download or if direct connect has no transfer limit. would a connection from my pc to PS4 work or would i need a router in between?

EDIT - my 100mbps internet is like 12mb per second - LOL. i knew mbps/mb conversion was tricky but i didn't know it was like that. that's worse than a mechanical HD.

That is exactly what I do. At least that way you can clearly see the transfer speed.

I think a direct wired connection between a PC and the PS4 might work but I don't know how you would set it up.
You might have to use a crossover cable but I don't know to be honest, someone else would have to help you with that.

Something to keep in mind I didn't see anyone touch on. If some time you run into an issue where nothing seems to be happening even after multiple attempts to send file, the culprit might be on main dashboard. Check notifications and see if there is previous attempt to download file, if listed delete. That will remove cockblock.

i bought a 2TB SSD for internal storage and new modem with router so i can transfer games with ethernet cable. i'm assuming i will have to jailbreak again. i found a guide but want to make sure i'm doing everything properly before i do anything. the first step says backup. is this for backing up anything important or just stuff like saves and trophies? if it's nothing important, i'm gong to skip this step. next step says reinstall system software in safe mode option 7 with 5.05 recovery pup. i'm assuming i should be using official 5.05 pup? not sure if there is a 5.05 jailbreak pup but want to make sure before i install any software. anything i should be careful about that could potentially ruin my day?

That’s suggests the update file is not in the right place.

Make sure it’s on usb:/ps4/update/ps4update.pup.

Also make sure to MD5 check the pup you downloaded in case the file is corrupted by your download method.

You need to use the 5.05 recovery pup to initialise a new hdd, and no, there is no such thing as a 5.05 jailbreak pup.

The correct path and filenames on the USB shold be as follows:
PS4/UPDATE/PS4UPDATE.PUP

Also try to format your USB on the PS4 itself. That way you know that the ps4 can read the USB drive correctly.

On your PS4 go to Settings > Devices > USB Storage Devices > YOUR USB > Press the Options button > Format as exFAT

As KiiWii said, also make sure to check the MD5 of the file. the MD5 for the 5.05 recovery pup is C2A602174F6B1D8EF599640CD276924A

leeful, if i could, i would hug you right now. was really starting to stress. had such a hard time finding 5.05. when i saw this error message in my face had sick feeling in my stomach. now you guys see why i ask stupid question and make sure i know what i'm doing before i do anything. stupid little things like this can really ruin your day.

i had the file in root directory then tried putting it in update folder. needed the PS4 folder.

kiiwii, i appreciate your time too. your AIO guide is pretty awesome. may i offer a suggestion? tell us nubs to create PS4/UPDATE folders in your upgrading HDD section. will make life easier for all of us.
