I've never thought about modding my Wii but since the lack of releases in Europe I'm thinking about it. I have a few questions:


What Mod chips work with the new Wii Firmware? (i think it was 3.30E or something)
These Open source Mod chips wii box, WiiFree, are they just as good as non-open source mod chips?
Which mod chip works best for running NTSC games on a PAL Wii
There is some games which require you to Update before playing, will this brick my Wii?
Gamecube games: can all the mod chips run every PAL Gamecube game on my PAL Wii?
Wii games: can all the mod chips run every PAL wii game on my PAL wii?

I have Wiinja DX who work nice. There is also WiiKey and many open-source chips.

All are equal... Some NTSC works on PAL some don't... some will brick your Wii or adding useless channels...

uh-oh, not what i wanted to hear. Doesn't MP3 updates your system?

One reason for a mod-chip for me is MP3 but if it bricks my wii then hell no.

Well MP3 update is kinda strange... if you made the update you will have two useless channels (USA Forecast Channel and USA News Channel) You can also do a trick (Unplug Wii after 10% update and use WiiBrickBlocker patched game).

MP3 won't brick your Wii in all case
