ive had this set of joycons for a about a year or 2 and recently ive started having issues wher they randomly disconnect when im playing with them detached.I have to reconnect them every time and its getting on my nerves im pretty sure Its not the batterys bc it happens even with half or 3/4 battery level. Can i fix this or do i need to replace them?

dont know it it helps but im ofw 13.2.0 and have tried updating the joycons through the update controllers screen and it didnt help

might try this: power down your switch by holding down power until it turns completely off. This is a soft reset…it doesn’t delete anything But does reboot from nothing when you power it back on.
Maybe try to delete your joycons and add them back?
you have a friend that can let you borrow their joycons to test?

running out of ideas fast…

I'll elaborate a little:
I had an issue that seemed to look like a sync issue with my joycon it worked while plugged in but seemed to lose connection intermittently when unplugged.

After stripping it down it turned out the ribbon was broken where is folds over the battery.

Well that clears anything with your switch itself and indicates the joycons are indeed the issue. That’s good news. If you can’t find anything untoward when you pop them open it might be time for some new ones.

they have slight drift and was just gona try replace the stick but im guessing if the ribbons broken its gona be better to just get a new set

could very well be just reseating the ribbon Cables like @SodaSoba said. Can’t hurt to pop them open and see.
sorry for the slow reply but yea i tried that and it still happens just not as often and its started happening with all my 3 sets of joycons.(reseated the ribbon cables on all of them)

(sorry i edited my post)

what about my other sets i got a few months ago are they also busted?(its started happening to all 3 of my sets of joycons)
Have you checked out this thread? Try booting into OFW (now CFW at all) and removing/adding your joycons. Then go back to CFW and see if they pair up properly. Also have you tried connecting your joycons to your PC via Bluetooth th make sure they work?

i dont have cfw bc my switch is patched but yea ive tried that already and its connects fine to both my pc and switch i just sometimes have to resync them when on switch or pc

Without a CFW we’re running out of suspects to blame. Since everything is stock there‘s no harm contacting Ninty directly to see if they posses any secrets. Watch it be something silly like “turn airplane mode off and back on.”

Anyone else have any ideas?
