Hacking Joining sequential files

I have several images that are in a sequential format: *.001, *.002, etc..

How do I join these files? I assume they eventually end in *.gcm.. I used this program:

but for some reason I can't get it to work..


Also, several RAR sequences show CRC errors when I extract the ISO.. The PAR2 file doesn't show that it needs to be fixed in any way, which I assume means it was RARed with CRC errors to start with. Any way to fix that? Will the ISO work with CRC errors anyway?

You sure they aren't just rar-parts?

If you got a bad CRC error, you haven't to try using the ISO, it won't definitely work.

This kinda files (*.001, *.002 and so on) usually works with WinRAR.

/!\ Don't try to extract them all one by one, just launch the first one and extract the iso as usual. WinRAR will automatically detect the next files and continue extracting the iso from them /!\

If that is not the case though on windows you can use the command line:
copy /b file1.file+file2.file+file3.file completefile.file

these are just rar parts, but its annoying because winrar wont detect em, the way i get it to work is to open up winrar, browse to the folder, click the first file.... it should then show the image or whatever inside the rar, once you see this right click and choose extract to, then it works like normal winrar...

Or else you can associate the *.001 filetype with WinRAR.

Will make your life much easier

I actually assign my .001 file to Winrar to make life easier. Not that it unrars automatically but at least I don't have to hunt down Winrar.

hold shift + right click and pick OPEN WITH and CHOOSE PROGRAM (well if the filetype [.001] is not recognized by windows, then just pick OPEN and "Select the program from a list") browse through the program list. pick Winrar (if you have it installed already).

Then in Winrar, extract.

Theyre just corrupt and you need to redownload them

Try HJSPLIT, just Google for it

HJSplit isn't necessary in this case, nor is it really necessary in a case of split files. All platforms have some sort of way of concatenating files.

Windows has copy /b
Linux (and by extension, OSX) has cat
