I've been doing a lot of reading the past few days about hacking the Switch. I plan on playing my backups from an SD card. From what I finding so far, it looks like I have to use a jig each time to boot into RCM. Then I'm able to load whatever CFW I need. Is that right? Is there a simpler method that has been developed recently that I'm not seeing? Everything I search for is from months ago. TIA

It's worth mentioning that even with autoRCM enabled you'll still need to push a payload via dongle or other means.

It's only slightly more convenient... Because if you find yourself without a way to push a payload you have yourself a fancy temporary paperweight. You will need it to boot sysMMC as well.

if you're going with AutoRCM, keep your Switch docked and charged if not in use. Don't let it die.

Normally there is no reason to reboot or do a 'cold-boot' every time.
Unless some homebrew app crashes, there is no reason to reboot anyway.
With the latest Atmosphere, you can even reboot without a jig or injector.

I haven't used anything like SXOS or emuNand so I don't know if you need to reboot in order to switch between your offline and online mode.

I use a piece of rolled up tinfoil taped to the joycon, as a permanent jig. In addition to that, I never turn the console off, but putting it into sleep mode. This gives me a minimal inconvience.
