Hacking Jasper +Zephyr Jtag/RGH HELP!!

Hi,
I've got a Jasper 2009 2.0.16756 and a Zephyr 2.0.17150 (drive doesn't work so would rather use Jasper) and I want to Jtag or RGH one. I've read the guides and apart from spending 3 days with 600+ tabs open lol I'm getting pretty confused. (Also is it OK to update these beforehand)
Now I can solder (not great at it) and have a rework station but I'm not sure which route to go down and what kit I need, I'm in the UK so any help on which way to go and where to get the kit from would be gratefully received.
Also, are these OODE an ok alternative taking into account Xbox Live etc..

I'd say RGH the Jasper, Zephyrs are a pain in the arse to RGH.
The Zephyr can take a ODDE tho.

RGH, you need to have a NAND dumper (JR programmer or NAND-X) and a glitch chip (Ace V3 or TX Coolrunner will do)

ODDE wise, you'll need to dump your DVD drive firmware.
It can be done with the correct SATA chipset, or a VIA PCI SATA card, x360 USB Pro also works.

Do I need the glitch chip as well as this? Someone told me I'd only need this (This is why it get's confusing lol) If so which on this page would I need?

Those two will work fine yep.

You can update them, I wouldn't RGH the Zephyr tho.
