Gaming japanese text on windows XP

i need it to re-organize my ipod/songs

Try Windows Update. If that doesn't work, I think the Microsoft website has language packs available for download somewhere (the same ones that come with the XP install disc).

It's more than just fonts that is required to display the characters.


@Basher: beyond getting ahold of an XP DVD some how? I don't know of any way.

Maybe take it to a computer repair shop and ask them if you buy some gadgets if they'll let you borrow their DVD for a minute? lol


I know there was a cool computer shop in my area that would do stuff like that as long as you were a customer in some fashion and wasn't blatant piracy.

Search the internet for ie_ja.exe
Download, install then restart your computer.
No need to change Regional and Language Settings.

To install Jap font on microsoft office, go to
Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs>Microsoft Office>Change>Add or Remove Components>Office Shared Features>International Support>Japanese Font>Run from My Computer..

Can you go to advanced and just change the language there to Japanese? I'm pretty sure that's necessary at one point.
Didn't think I had to use Windows CD when I changed the language to a fresh install of Windows XP a few months ago.
Worth a try at the very least.

iirc it'll ask you for a cd but you can ignore it.

I have songs like that, but it shows the name and then those weird boxes (e.g. I have the song Fluticasone and it shows the name and then... THE WEIRD BOXES!!! ((dun dun DUUUN)))
